The 2 ton ACV can be operated over almost any terrain including water, land, ice, mudflats and sandbanks etc. and is ideal for Search and Rescue, Fire Department, Coast Guard duties, and small unit military transportation where speed and maneuver are critical. On-cushion, it hovers above the water and so in flood conditions, the craft will not be constrained by shallow water, debris or, in urban areas, cars, road signs or other items below the waterline. The 2 ton ACV adds a true amphibious capability to any emergency organization where dock and road access may not be possible.
The 10 ton ACV offers the unique operating advantages of a fully amphibious hovercraft vs displacement type craft for high-speed transit operations and nearly unlimited coastal access from deep water areas to in-shore operations. No infrastructure such as jetties or piers are required for beaching operations. Submerged obstacles, shallow water, sand bars and high tidal changes are not a concern for the 10 ton ACV operations. The layout of the craft and its ability to carry up to 10 metric tons of disposable payload load allows it to be fully utilized in multiple roles. The marine diesel-powered craft, simple mechanical layout and easy to maintain skirt system provide economical operating costs.
